Golf Operations Department – Starter and/or Course Marshall

Terms of Employment:          Full Time Seasonal – days, evening, and weekend.

Salary:                                     To be negotiated as per collective agreement

Location:                                 Pippy Park Golf Club

This position is responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience through various points of contact, and overseeing Golfer Service duties. The employee may be scheduled as a Starter and/or Course Marshall and should have full time availability through to the end of the golf season in early November.

Responsibilities (may differ depending on scheduled role) may include

• To ensure that golfers playing privileges are in order through document verification
• To ensure all scheduled golfers start on time and are aware of daily notices
• Provide, with proof of receipt, any rental clubs required
• Manage the golf cart fleet on a daily basis
• Follow and promote health and safety policies and procedures
• To monitor the pace of play, ensure time frames are being met, and take remedial action when problems arise
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a variety of shifts (early morning, afternoon, evenings) including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, until the end of October
• Effective communication skills: speaking, listening, and responding
• Be enthusiastic and interactive
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as showing individual initiative
• Ability to follow and take direction from Supervisors/Managers
• Good knowledge of golf and related products
