Explore us in our winter white, and get rid of those winter blues! Whether it’s Nordic or skate skiing, snowshoeing, snow biking, or tobogganing, families and winter enthusiasts agree that when the snow comes, Pippy Park is the place to be.
Pippy Park offers two networks of cross-country ski trails. The City of St. John’s also offer cross-country ski rentals and lessons as well as snowshoe rentals.
Novice skiers enjoy the gentle groomed trails within the Trailer Park. Experienced skiers seek the excitement of the twisting trails around Three Pond Barrens. Snowshoers treasure the pure air, discover the pleasures of following animal tracks and listening to bird song.
Prefer the rush of sledding? Bring a thermos of hot chocolate and enjoy our sliding hills.

Shake those winter blues and explore Pippy Park blanketed in snow! The Pippy Park Winter Activity Centre offers rentals of waxless classic cross country ski equipment as well as snowshoes for all ages. A Cross Country Ski Sledge is also available for individuals with physical disabilities. The Winter Activity Centre is located at the North Bank Lodge on Nagle’s Place off Allandale Road.

Free groomed trails at Pippy Park
Come ski the Slope Trail or the Eagle’s Perch. Popular with novice classic skiers and competitive skate skiers alike are the 3 km of groomed trails in Pippy Park’s Trailer Park. Ski during the day or enjoy the thrill of skiing at night under lights!
Cross-country skiing: Three Pond Barrens
Skiing is a great way to discover Pippy Park’s wild side. A system of ungroomed, wilderness trails takes the more experienced skier through a hilly, wooded landscape to an area known as the Three Pond Barrens.
